The world is full of contradictions. Wonderful things happen, but also terrible things. And one of the terrible things is when you are wronged.
People do all sorts of things to each other. The motives can be diverse. Besides injustice being a problem in itself, there is a bigger problem. And that is that the negative feeling that something has been done to you often lingers for a long time.
Millions of people who have been wronged fantasize about how they can make amends or find retribution. The underlying reason is that gnawing feeling that you want to get rid of. The feeling that, for example, a perpetrator has not been caught can haunt you for years.
It is normal that when someone has done something to you, you blame that person. But how frustrating is it when something unfair happens and no one seems to care? Or what I just wrote, when the perpetrator is never caught, found, or held accountable.

The Sting of Injustice
Whether it’s a single instance that you’ve been wronged, that way too high tax bill, a burglary in your home, or a government that slyly turns democracy into a dictatorship… injustice has a special kind of sting.
The fact in itself is terrible enough. What makes it worse is that in some cases there is nothing you can do about it. You will have to sit idly by and watch how it happened or how it is still happening.
If you are or have been the victim of some crime, where the perpetrator has never been caught, it can feel very wrong when you are told to let it go. You might actually bite into it to fight it or undo it.
In addition to large forms of injustice, there are also smaller injustices that can happen to you.
Maybe you feel unfairly treated by your partner or friends. Or you feel bad that someone else is smarter, richer, or more attractive than you, or gets a promotion you would have liked.
No matter how big or small an injustice may be, it can always come to dominate your life. And before you know it, you find yourself in a bitter situation. And what do you need to do?
